CUSTOM ROM VS STOCK ROM - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

At some point in life we all have tried to root our device to get the latest features from the android developers and in that process we come across terms like Custom ROMs and Stock ROMs.

Some of us who don't have a technical background may get confused with these terms but in the following article I would make sure that each one of you reading the article surely gets comfortable with these two technical terms.

And before doing that let us discover the need of custom ROM

Suppose you are a developer, and you know coding so what you would do is - change the stock ROM to Custom ROM by modifying the source code in order to add new and dynamic features which the Stock ROM is not providing till that point of time.

STOCK ROMs
Stock ROM is the original ROM which comes by default in our android devices, suppose you have an android device with MARSHMALLOW android version so this is the stock ROM of your device.

One of your friend has OREO version in his device, so OREO is the stock ROM of his android device.

Stock ROMs are developed by any particular mobile company and packed with the features with which the android device is comapatible, the features are limited though but are built with very minimal chances of any kind of bugs or error, still if the users faces any error on their devices, google sends updates to fix that.

These days Stock ROM is only found in cases where the device as well as the OS is developed by the same company.

CUSTOM ROMs

Custom ROMs are third party ROMs built by any deveoloper who knows the coding and can modify the source code and you install this ROM on your android device with the process known as Rooting.

Custom ROMs are not developed by GOOGLE or any other mobile company as I mentioned in the above lines these are developed by a third party person to add some new features and make the look more dynamic.

Up till now I have discussed what stock rom and custom rom is and now you may be thinking the advantage of one over the other and which one to use. Let us have a look at the advantages and disadvantages.
